HELP ME - CENTRAL

About Me

Hello,

My name is Sherry Klemme and I live in east central llinois. I have been rescuing and transporting homeless animals for about 30 years. I have to first say that this website is just fantastic and so very full of great rescources and I am happy to be here.

My husband and I farm 1200 acres full time and we have an array of rescued animals, dogs, horses, a goat and adopted cats, both domestic and feral-All are altered of course :)

Both my husband and I will never turn down a stray in need, attending to many local emergencies, then we try to turn them over to approved rescues.

I have always loved to transport, we bought a mini van a few years ago for this purpose. And since my boss retired I have decided not only to continue to provide short distance volunteer transport-which I have done for several area shelters/rescues for the last 15 years but I will also provide long distance paid transports as well, again catering to rescues. I went a few long distance trips over the summer and had a great time-often times I do emergencies, like IL to Co., in a day and a half, or NJ in one day.

I also try to do my share of cross posting-my network is not as large as many but all networking helps to save a life.

Recenty I worked for a local vet clinic where we also housed the city strays. I was only there one year before they closed but I helped to make sure that we didn't have to euthanize one single homeless pet, then as I said my boss decided to retire but I still have a key to the vacant clinic and I am back for our city animal control officer. I am still placing the pets I pick up when they are not reclaimed.

Aside from a great husband, a great mom and a great family... that's me. Thanks again for creating this wonderful website.

Sherry Klemme
